Verity Fullerton-Smith, Marwood House

An exciting gap year exploring the fascinating world of theatre work, art and museums is on the cards for Verity Fullerton-Smith, who will also use the time to plan her future career.
The former Head of Day has secured a place at Edinburgh University to read architectural history – but she is also considering applying for Cambridge University during her gap year.
“I’m interested in the history side of buildings and ensuring they are restored in a sympathetic way,” Verity said. “I love art too but buildings also serve a function.”
After moving around a number of schools, Verity settled quickly into Barney Sixth Form.
She added: “It is certainly the best school I have been to and I would recommend it to anyone. It was friendly and welcoming, and gave me an awful lot of confidence.”
