Joe Roff, Tees House
Budding engineer Joe Roff will be following in family footsteps when he embarks on the next chapter of his life.
He is to read a MEng in mechanical engineering at Leeds University after securing three A*s and a D1.
“My dad is an engineer so I have grown up with it,” said Joe. “I have always enjoyed maths and physics so it made perfect sense to go into engineering. I haven’t decided what type of engineering yet and will just see what happens in Leeds.”
Joe joined Barney in Year 7 and became involved with football, rugby, athletics and squash. “The home learning programme was great during the pandemic and I think it will stand me in good stead at university when you are expected to do more independent study,” he said.
