Year 6 Achievement Award
At Prep School, we empower our children to tackle life’s challenges head-on; we prepare our children for the tests of life, not a life of tests Our innovative Achievement Award program in Year 6 celebrates this philosophy and has garnered immense popularity.
Throughout the year, the children dive into a plethora of practical experiences, from mastering foundational first aid to unleashing their culinary creativity. They are encouraged to embrace their passions through hands-on project management, fostering both confidence and curiosity.
The program crescendos with the Untitled Project, a unique opportunity for our Preppies to propose and execute their own initiatives, culminating in a presentation before a panel of peers and teachers.
Recent projects have ranged from engineering a soapbox car to exploring the complexities of the human brain, developing a new chocolate and even creating a movie. One ambitious Preppie even corresponded with Sir David Attenborough on the vital topic of animal conservation, receiving a personal response!
These remarkable projects are just a glimpse into the boundless creativity of our children.
Instead of the traditional Statutory Assessment Tests (SATs) taken by many primary school children in the UK, we prioritise character development and the cultivation of essential soft skills that will become invaluable as our Preppies transition through their education and into their future careers.
The Year 6 Achievement Award is a cornerstone of this vision, significantly enhancing their readiness for Senior School and beyond.
