European Day of Languages

We have enjoyed celebrating European Day of Languages and the start of Prep School Languages Week today!
This morning’s student-led Chapel service set the tone for a wonderful day, where pupils spoke about their languages and cultures, before closing with a rousing rendition of Jerusalem in German and the Lord’s Prayer in French!
Additionally, Barney’s MFL department decorated Central Hall with engaging displays all about European languages, including one detailing where staff members have lived across the world and any other languages they can speak.
Preppies were also treated to a Disney-themed assembly that included a languages quiz, organised by Sixth Formers Isobel and Will.
They, too, have been learning about languages and different cultures with registration being taken and grace at lunchtimes spoken in a different language each day.
