Opportunities – Catherine Foster

It was a welcome sight in the Sixth Form Centre this afternoon as our Sixth Form bubble gathered to watch the latest lecture in our series, rather than at home, as has been the case these last few months.

Catherine Foster, who heads up the marketing team at The Great Run Company, was our virtual guest today, who delivered a rousing talk and account of her career to date.

After four years as a sports physiotherapist, Catherine made a brave decision to change fields to marketing – one that she encouraged our pupils not to be afraid to make, if they are considering a career change, for example, to something that they are more passionate about.

Catherine also explained the importance of maintaining and building friendships – her ‘biggest piece of advice’, while staying true to yourself and taking advantage of any opportunities that afforded to you.

We hope we are now on course to physically welcome speakers and visitors to Barney in the not too distant future, and look forward to catching up with Catherine properly then.
