Conference Centre

The school’s new state-of-the-art sixth form centre is now available to hire during the Easter and summer holidays as well as at certain weekends during the academic year. With its own entrance and reception area this modern facility can be utilised as a stand-alone venue, or alternatively for those who prefer, it can be hired in unison with the traditional school building.

The Centre is designed to suit a variety of occasions from small business meetings to large corporate gatherings or lectures. The ground floor is extremely spacious, open and airy and therefore makes it an ideal venue for exhibitions.

There are 3 large meeting rooms, two of which can be combined for larger events. It benefits from interactive white boards and secure lockers with biometric security to charge and store any USB devices.  It is fully air conditioned and has surround sound.  There is a large pull down screen in the centre of the atrium for large presentations.  There is access to several PCs downstairs, as well as a printer and a photocopier.

The working environment is offset by a comfortable seating area, perfect for break-out sessions. In the central area there are moveable tables and chairs which can be used for work or dining.

Our in-house caterers can provide a variety of food options, which can either be served in the conference centre or in the wood panelled dining hall.

Accommodation is available during the Easter and summer holidays.   The three boarding houses offer a mix of single, double and en-suite facilities and our in-house catering team provides freshly prepared meals in our wood panelled dining room.

Barnard Castle is located in the heart of Teesdale with easy transport links via air and rail. 15 minutes from the A1 and central to Durham, Cumbria and Northumberland.
