Catering Team Awarded 5-Star Hygiene Rating

Barnard Castle School’s exceptional Catering Team has been awarded a prestigious 5-star food hygiene rating by the Durham County Council Environmental Health Department. This top rating reflects the team’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to maintaining the highest food safety standards.

The inspection took place while the team was in the midst of serving a fantastic ‘Wicked’-themed lunch for our Prep School pupils, showcasing not only their skill and efficiency but also their creativity and enthusiasm for providing memorable dining experiences.

Achieving the top rating is no small feat and demonstrates the Catering Team’s resilience, attention to detail and safety, as well as their unwavering focus on delivering exceptional service every single day.

Headmaster, Mr Cresswell, praised the team’s achievement, saying: “Our Catering Team consistently goes above and beyond to provide outstanding meals for our pupils and staff. This 5-star rating is a true testament to their professionalism, and we are incredibly proud of them for achieving this well-deserved recognition.”
