Northumberland & York Day

We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming the families of Northumberland and York Houses yesterday, as our Senior Boarders hosted their annual Father’s Day celebration.

Guests observed a lovely Chapel Service, before the highly competitive ‘Lads v Dads’ Cricket in the afternoon. Despite rain affecting play, the ‘Lads’ claimed all the bragging rights, who prevailed in both matches by two and eight wickets, respectively – better luck next year, Dads!

It was a bittersweet day for our boarding community, though, as it was the final such occasion for Mr Monument (‘Monty’), Northumberland’s long-serving Housemaster, who departs Barney at the end of the academic year.
