Thank you
15 Dec 2020Charity and supporting local communities form a large part of life at Barney, and the last few weeks have been no exception.
Throughout the second half of the Michaelmas Term, our Resident Chaplain, Father Darren, along with members of our Charity Committee and the wider Barney Community, have supported the TCR Hub’s ‘Care Package Collection’ initiative.
During the final week of term, we were delighted to welcome The Hub’s CEO, Rachel Tweddle, to Barney who collected our donations.
The Hub is a focal point of the Barnard Castle community and its Care Packages and wider services provide a great deal of support to many people, even more so during these current unprecedented times.
We are also grateful for the efforts by the girls and staff in Marwood and Bowes Houses, who took it upon themselves to support another excellent cause, Wear Valley Women’s Aid, instead of ‘Secret Santa’ this year.
Miss Hovington recently visited its refuge in Bishop Auckland to drop off all their donations of clothing, toiletries and toys, among other items.
Thank you to everyone in the Barney Community for your incredible generosity and support, which will support two fantastic, deserving causes this Christmas.
